Mangio troppa cioccolata (album di Giorgia del 1997)

Nel 1997 l’ascesa canora di Giorgia diede un ulteriore colpo di reni con l’album, prodotto e arrangiato dal grande Pino Daniele, MANGIO TROPPA CIOCCOLATA con 11 canzoni.

Si parte con uno dei singoli di spicco, Un amore da favola, con Fabio Colasanti in cabina di regia a programmare e suonare la chitarra elettrica, ottimo il piano di Greg Mathieson che pervade il brano. Che amica sei sprigiona il sassofono alto di Rosario Giuliani ed il filicorno di Mike Applebaum. Il rifacimento di Un’ora sola ti vorrei parte tra schiamazzi e mezzi motorizzati che danno il buongiorno: Giorgia, oltre a cantare, aggiunge armonie vocali e anche Pino Daniele dà il suo defilato contributo vocale e Jimmy Earl vi associa il basso. Arriva il temporale è scritta da Daniele e lo vede anche alla chitarra elettrica. Ho voglia di ricominciare rimette in pista il sax alto di Giuliani, in più Matheson suona il piano e Applebaum dà fiato alla tromba. Dimmi dove sei è un altro singolo elaborato da Colasanti che suona anche la chitarra elettrica. La successiva In vacanza con me sprigiona buon umore col suo motivo contagioso ed i fiati travolgenti. Sueno latino mette insieme l’hammond,di Matheson, la batteria di John Ferraro e la chitarra acustica di Pino. Fai come me spicca per il sassofono soprano di Giuliani e tromba e filicorno di Applebaum. Come in un film stimola le tastiere, il basso e il ritorno di fiamma del sassofono alto. Chiude Tutto è possibile, in cui entrano in ballo le tastiere addizionali di Arturo Valiante, Daniele vira sulle corde acustiche e Giorgia amplia la sua prestazione vocale.

L’album ottenne un notevole successo, confermando la forma smagliante della Todrani che vanta anche 7 degli 11 testi del disco, mentre il già citato Daniele, oltre a produrre, arrangia in modo fruibile supportato dal suo collaboratore storico Fabio Massimo Colasanti. L’adattamento di Un’ora sola ti vorrei, scritta da Umberto Bertini e Paola Marchetti, fu portata al successo da Fedora Mangarelli nel 1938 seminando innumerevoli successive versioni
