Sergio Bardotti

Sergio Bardotti magari rappresenta per i più attenti un nome di prestigio della composizione musicale, un’altra cosa è conoscerne la fondamentale opera.

Nato a Pavia nel 1939, all’inizio degli anni sessanta firmandosi Sergio Dotti pubblica due 45 giri rimasti ignorati. Inizia poi a collaborare con la RCA producendo e scrivendo testi, cui segue l’approdo a una sotto etichetta, la ARC, che scopre il talento di Dalla, Rokes, Mal & The Primitives e Dino. La sua ascesa lo porta a scrivere per assi quali Tenco, Paoli e Endrigo. Quest’ultimo portò la sua Canzone per te a vincere Sanremo nel 1968, rivinto con Ti lascerò grazie all’interpretazione del duo Leali/Oxa. Bardotti ha scritto testi per tanti altri nomi della migliore musica italiana, basti citare Dalla, Mina, Pravo e Ron, poi tenendo il passo col cambiamento si è cimentato al disco a tema con titoli quali Storie di casa mia (Dalla), Aldebaran (New Trolls), Non al denaro non all’amore né al cielo (De André). Molto amati tra i suoi brani Occhi di ragazza, Amico, Piazza grande, Quella carezza della sera, lontano dagli occhi, La casa in riva al mare, Grazie perché, Te lo leggo negli occhi, Era d’estate, Datemi un martello, E io tra di voi e Vai Valentina. Ha inoltre ampliato la sua vena compositiva al teatro, al cinema e alla televisione.

Dotato di umorismo e grande cultura, si è anche distinto in qualità di docente al seminario per autori di testi, che ha anche tradotto dalla lingua francese, trovando anche una felice collaborazione con grandi esponenti della canzone sudamericana, esperienze per le quali ha riscosso popolarità e elogi fuori dalle mura amiche. La massa certo ignora che con Antonello Venditti nel 1975 ha scritto l’inno calcistico della Roma (non si discute si ama) e che dopo essersi laureato in lettere a pieni voto la RCA lo incaricò di curare una collana di poesie di Quasimodo, Montale, Ungaretti e Pasolini, esperienza che ha poi fuso nella musica schivando la banalità ed unendo la poesia con la canzone, lui che con i poeti aveva cominciato.
