Uscito nel 1961, ha come protagonista principale l’attrice Hayley Mills nel doppio ruolo di 2 sorelle gemelle che fino all’età di 13 anni ne sono ignare, poiché cresciute dai propri genitori ma separatamente: sono Sharon McKendrick e Susan Evers. Quest’ultima vive in California col padre Mitch, mentre Sharon risiede a Boston con la madre Margaret. Per uno strano caso del destino trascorrono entrambe le vacanze estive nello stesso campeggio e, una volta incontratesi, rimarranno stupite di quanto siano simili. Le 2 non si sopportano e, dopo l’ennesima zuffa, verranno sistemate nello stesso alloggio. Qui faranno amicizia, e dopo aver scoperto chi sono, architettano un piano: lo scambio tra genitori con l’obiettivo di far ricongiungere Mitch e Margaret.

Commedia nel vero stile originale in cui ad un inizio burrascoso segue uno sviluppo lieto. Il film della Disney è divertente, emozionante e pedagogico.
