Reckless (album di Bryan Adams del 1984)

RECKLESS è il quarto album di studio di Bryan Adams. È il disco che rivela l’artista canadese al mondo, basti solo pensare che ben 6 delle 10 tracce presenti sono state estratte come singoli ed ancora oggi sono considerate dei superclassici della discografia del cantante.

Tra i brani destinati a scavare un solco indelebile è bene citare subito Heaven, che dalla sua pubblicazione in poi può essere considerata di diritto la ballata delle ballate: dolcissima con il suo accompagnamento al piano eppure con quel tocco rock del tema di chitarra che ne è il suo ideale complemento. Tra gli altri singoli, Run to you è un altro gradevole tema rock’n’roll sul classico argomento amoroso, Somebody ha un ritmo coinvolgente ed un ottimo impatto live grazie alla sua struttura molto agevole, Summer of ’69 apre con un power chord graffiante e poi si dipana sui ricordi di un’adolescenza lontana, Kids Wanna Rock è una piccola scheggia di 2 minuti dove si sfiora quasi l’hard rock ed infine per It’s only love Adams sceglie come partner femminile una sempre grintosa e vocalmente eccelsa Tina Turner confezionandole addosso un duetto adrenalinico. Tra i brani meno noti, One night love affair è il pezzo di apertura ed ha un arrangiamento che strizza un po’ l’occhio al nascente fenomeno dell’hair metal, She’s Only Happy When She’s Dancin è un rock dalle venature un po’ blues ed infine il pezzo di chiusura Ain’t Gonna Cry lascia l’ultima scarica di sano rock con un ritmo incalzante.

RECKLESS è l’inizio di un periodo d’oro per Bryan Adams, che per tutto il decennio a seguire sarà in grado di sfornare un album di successo dietro l’altro. La commistione tra un rock melodico di facile presa, la voce chiara e potente e, non ultimo, la faccia da bravo ragazzo ben lontana dal fitto universo popolato di Bad Boys saranno gli ingredienti principali del suo meritato exploit.
