Otto grandi brani a partire da Vai con lui, praticamente un invito alla propria donna di voltare pagina. Dentro di te fuori dal mondo è una valvola di sfogo per Masini che cerca in una donna un modo per evadere una vita grama. Disperato, brano vincitore di Sanremo Giovani, è un manifesto masiniano che scava duramente sullo stato d’animo di un uomo rimasto solo e che grida aiuto alla lei che ha preso un’altra strada. Caro babbo è uno struggente ritratto paterno in cui il cantautore toscano non fa sconti ricordando anche le botte a fin di bene. Ci vorrebbe il mare commuove toccando ancora una volta le corde di una dolorosa separazione: bella la metafora del mare come soluzione a uno stato d’animo depresso. Le ragazze serie suona attuale, magari con testo un po’ duro: non tutte prendono la strada sbagliata ma certo non poche nascono per farlo. A cosa pensi pone stavolta una donna, pure giovane, che rimugina su se stessa cosa è andato storto, cosa poteva essere fatto e non lo fu: così Marco la incoraggia a non buttarsi via. Dal buio è toccante: racconta di un cieco che riesce a trovare uno spiraglio di gioia nella presenza di una donna che lo apprezza e lo comprende tenendolo per mano, mentre lo sfortunato ne gode il profumo.

Certo non capita a tutti i primi album di sbancare la classifica e oscurare la nobile concorrenza: Masini ci riuscì con testi malinconici ma profondi che in sostanza prendono di petto la vita e ne parlano a muso duro, evidenziando soprattutto la condizione di disagio che si prova lontano dagli affetti.
