La Locandiera (film di Paolo Cavara del 1980)

Diretto da Paolo Cavara nel 1980, LA LOCANDIERA è un film ispirato dalla commedia scritta da Carlo Goldoni nel 1752 ed annovera tra gli interpreti Claudia Mori, Adriano Celentano, Paolo Villaggio, Marco Messeri, Gianni Cavina e Milena Vukotic.

L’oste Mirandolina, splendida ragazza, è contesa da due nobiluomini: il Marchese di Forlimpopoli e il Conte di Alba Fiorita, che non mancano di rimpinguare la donna di regali e doni di grande valore con lo scopo di ingraziarsela e chiederla in sposa, ignari della furbizia di essa che pensa a racimolare soldi e gioielli negando tuttavia la sua mano. Finché un altro uomo funge da terzo incomodo: il misogino Cavaliere di Ripafratta che tuttavia, proprio perché avverso alle donne, stimola l’attrazione di Mirandolina che da corteggiata diventa corteggiatrice riuscendo ad intortare l’uomo esponendolo all’umiliazione di ammettere in pubblico di essersi innamorato di lei. In verità è un fuoco di paglia: la splendida fanciulla infatti si rende conto che il suo cuore batte per un umile cameriere di nome Fabrizio e sceglie l’amore, rinunciando al lusso.

Nonostante la presenza di attori celebri il film è poco noto. Tuttavia tratta un argomento mai obsoleto: il potere di scegliere, di decidere, l’ascendente esercitato sugli altri, tutto rappresentato nelle mani di una donna e nella la facilità di essa nel poter vivere di tutto ciò che desidera per il solo fatto di avere il dono della bellezza, che mette a nudo la pochezza dell’uomo disposto a cedere al l’immortalità e all’umiliazione pur di far breccia sul gentil sesso. Certo un’immagine non edificante per esso, benché in definitiva è solo un’amara realtà, prendendo spunto dal dibattito delle classi sociali particolarmente in voga nel Settecento, periodo narrativo della commedia di Goldoni.
